NORTH HAMPTON — Carlos L. Renfro, 49, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013, at his home.
He was born Feb. 21, 1964, in Columbia, Tenn., the son of Willie James and Geneva A. (Sanford) Renfro. He moved to the New Hampshire seacoast in 1993.
After graduating from Columbia High School in 1984 he joined Harvey's Gym in Columbia and began his lifelong journey in the natural bodybuilding arena.
While working for Coca-Cola he took a leave of absence from bodybuilding. During this time, his son Naethan James was born.
Mr. Renfro renewed his passion and dedication to competitive bodybuilding and set his sites on earning his Pro card, earning his first card in 2009 at the Yankee Classic in Newburyport, Mass., and then again in 2010 at the Gaspari Natural in Barnstable, Mass.
In 2008 he met the love of his life, Wendy Chadwick. Their shared love of the sport led to a partnership, not only at the gym, but in life. They married in the Bahamas in 2012.
He is survived by his wife Wendy of North Hampton; one son, Naethan of Hampton; two stepdaughters, Kasey and Kameron Steinmetz; one grandson, Mason Steinmetz-Sapp, all of North Hampton; two sisters, Darlene and Eileen Renfro; one brother, Eric; three nieces, Clarissa Renfro, Latoya Miller and Cassandra Armstrong; nephews, Kelton Miller, Christopher Armstrong, Everic, Deveric and Tyus Renfro; "Mimi and Papa" of Seabrook; and many extended family and friends that he loved and adored.
He was predeceased by his father.
